Keep the case and connector separate
An Apple 42 mm case label is not the same measurement as a 20 mm spring-bar band width or a 22 mm QuickFit designation. The first helps identify a watch case group, while the others describe an attachment system and its size. A shared number cannot establish a shared connector. Band Reference therefore keeps exact watch model, selected band system and actual size option in separate fields.
Add the published wrist range
The selected Apple S/M record states 130–180 mm wrists. The selected Garmin QuickFit 22 record states 125–208 mm. Barton's selected Standard option states 5–8 inches. These are manufacturer ranges, not measurements performed here or personal comfort guarantees. A band can have the correct connector while the selected length is outside its published range. Conversely, a wrist number inside a range does not establish that the connector fits the watch.
Retain the exact option
Our three records are Apple MJV74AM/A Black 42 mm S/M, Garmin 010-14507-00 Tidal Blue/Ice Blue QuickFit 22 and Barton ESQR-BLACK-20 with Stainless Steel hardware and Standard length. Changing color, hardware, length or width can change the actual item or its status. The complete selection stays with the price so a saved family title does not hide those differences.
Use the record for a bounded decision
The local finder checks only explicitly reviewed model relationships and a published numeric wrist range. It has not fitted, worn, stretched or pull-tested any strap. Unknown models stay unknown; an in-range number is not a locked-fit, sport or skin-safety promise. Confirm the actual current device designation and package before buying. No wrist photo, device serial or personal health history is requested.
A practical three-field handoff
Consider a purchaser replacing a band for a Series 10 GPS watch. The useful handoff is A2997, the selected current 42 mm Apple band MJV74AM/A, and the S/M length option. Writing only 42 mm loses both generation and length. In contrast, a Barton request should preserve 20 mm watch-end width and Standard length rather than turning its 18 mm buckle width into the order size. Put each measurement beside the thing it actually measures. If the existing record mixes those fields, correct it before comparing the price or buying a spare.
